Dark Mocha Frappuccino and Java Chip Frappuccino |
It was such a looooong day for me and my girl friend Ness. And what better way to end it is to stay for a while at a coffee shop where we could embrace a nice venti plastic glass to ease our tired mood. I think this was the fourth time we had coffee time together at Starbucks since we first met about 3 months ago. Obviously we are more comfortable together than before and coffee time or should I say frappe time is the best time to share our thoughts and rants.
It was a bounce back transaction as we were using the coupon from Ness' Starbucks 2012 Planner. Her coupon but definitely my treat. Cool huh! We were so thankful that this branch with the usual high foot traffic as it is beside the Araneta-Smart coliseum, was not so occupied one rainy night in May. No long queues and crowd, just a handful of Starbucks-a-holic thus, it was so easy to place an order for two venti drinks. We were so excited then to have some refreshments that will not only quench our thirst but will match our moment also. Engrossed with out chit chat and realized that we waited for more that 15 minutes, only to find out that our blended beverages were not yet prepared. Uh-oh! That's the time that I called the attention of the cashier who took my orders which is nothing grand as far as I am concerned. My companion and I noticed how they hustled their movements into creating our frappes and even unsure on who will take charge to do the task given that they were five behind the counter. Too many to assemble two variants of blended drinks, right? Because from where we were seated it was really obvious how they panicked. In order not to derail our mood, we just waited for anyone of them to ask pardon from us for the inconvenience but no one did except for someone who served our orders and thanked us for waiting. We were like saying to ourselves that it was not the standard service of a world-renowned coffee retailer. Just so saddening. Hoping for more customer focus the next time I have to come in here.
Our super tall drinks were perfect as always. We just personally did like our experience in terms of service at this branch. What if in no time their store will be subjected to a peak mode? The promise is there but it is always the way someone executes it to make the guest experience a totally remarkable coffee experience. Just my two cents :)
