I am actually not a party person but I've already been to some bars in Metro Manila especially now that I reached my quarter life---carefree and enjoying it as much as I can. I had to admit too that I'm the exact opposite of my first female cousin who is like a party animal and have accessed all high end bars here and abroad, one who has bunch of social friends. But one thing is for sure, I was never a party pooper and will never be (or so I thought)! My blog post today is not about partying but something that is quite related to that. A few days back after covering an event for a premier bed linen in the country, one of the PR people who invited the eight of us graciously welcomed the group to order anything we want from the 7th High menu. I think it was more like an act of returning the favor for us who were present for the late afternoon event and I felt each one of us on our assigned bar nook seemed excited about the idea. Right after she asked the group, I sneaked out and went to the bathroom to freshen up and when I go back everything was ordered already which then gave me a little peace of mind. If I am not mistaken it was everybody's first time at this luxurious and one of the formidable high-end bar in Manila. A very popular and highly marketable entertainment, art and nightlife hub. Even if the sun was still high and not a perfect time for partying with loud dance songs and club music, we simply settled to sampling some of the meals and dishes that proudly occupied their menu folder. Hence, our group of bloggers maximized the time of togetherness over good food and fine place. Our very first Seventh High experience!
Menu is extensive particularly the beverages part but no one among us availed any of the liquors even if it was really tempting. Staff are well-trained and comparable to that of five star service. And sharing you here are what our group of eight took pleasure of. . .
Calamari Fritti PhP175
Breaded squid rings served with tangy aioli dip.
We could've ordered for two platters though everybody got their fair share or not-so-fair share?!! A little gummy but tastes so good.
Buffalo Chicken Tenders PhP195
Fried Chicken Tenders smothered in special buffalo sauce, served with blue cheese dip and vegetable crudites.
Just perfect for starters. Very hot and spicy but totally good. We forgot about the vegetable strips and concentrated on the jigger half-filled with blue cheese dip.
Philly Cheese Steak PhP235
Baguette stuffed with beef tenderloin, peppers, mushrooms, caramelized onions.
Maybe this bar is not being specific as to what type of baguette they serve, but I liked the way it is because it surprised me that they used whole-wheat baguette for their sumptuous sandwich steak. Overall taste was fantastic that I want another round. Imagine we were like eight in a group who shared this plate
Fish and Chips PhP145
Crunchy beer battered creamy dory strips served alongside potato wedges with umeboshi dip and malt vinegar.
Fish strips and fries were served warm enough but nut crunchy at all.
Lemon Iced Tea PhP80
Nothing really special about the drink but it was refreshing.
The Works PhP325
An explosion of flavors with onions, peppers, mushrooms, olives, ground beef, pepperoni and mozzarella.
After our group devoured it in split seconds, I can honestly suggest to also call it 'The Bomb' *wink*
7th High Burger PhP285
Angus burger patty stuffed with cream cheese and caramelized onions topped with bacon and cheese.
Oh well not everybody was able to taste this big creation but I was lucky enough to take at least a bite. Yes it was really high and filled with so much stuff. I simply love how they cooked their bacon and the juiciness of the burger. Incredibly delicious! Plus the fries were cooked nicely - not toasted nor too salty.
Packed with bacon, ground beef, ham, Hungarian sausage, pepperoni and mozzarella.
I soooo love lotsa mozzarella cheese on my pizza!!! Need I say more? ^_^
Churros with warm Chocolate-Kahlua Shooter PhP135
Dazzling fried pastry sprinkled with powdered sugar and cinnamon served with a warm chocolate shooter spiked with kahlua.
Unbelievable but true, churros itself will do without the chocolate-kahlua dip. These Spanish doughnuts are good-tasting already that with just one bite you know that what I said here is without a doubt true.
Rich custard endowed with hard caramel.
Sorry but I cannot rate this dessert :( Someone ordered it but definitely not he (hahaha) But say what, from the looks of it I can surmise it is yummy just the way a burnt cream or a rich custard should taste.
Nachos PhP295
Nachos topped with salsa alfresco and 7th High's special ground beef and cheese sauce.
This plate arrived late :( We have no idea and not everybody noticed it. And since we really enjoyed each others company we never dare asked the food server about its whereabouts. Better late than never. . .^_^
I noticed that the description from the menu was quite different from the actual product. I suggest that this posh bar will rephrase or edit their nachos description as the salsa alfresco was not topped on the nacho chips, instead placed on the ramekin and served beside the chips. But I must admit this platter was our group's blockbuster!
I cannot tell when will I be back here but I'm looking forward to exploring more of their restaurant-style dishes- party or not party time. My first 7th High experience was remarkable! Wohooooo..
