Mrs. Hanapbuhay, CYNTHIA VILLAR officially joins the Administration's 2013 Senatorial Slate

Rumors become truth as wife of Senator Manny Villar, otherwise known as 'Misis Hanapbuhay' will officially run in the Philippine Senate election next year. I was actually invited last Monday, October 1, 2012, to witness such an important political event in the history of our country held at the Cory C. Aquino Kalayaan Hall of Club Filipino in Greenhills, San Juan City. Attending a prime celebration like this being attended by major TV networks journalists and reporters was like a wake-up call for me to practice again my Right of Suffrage and therefore vote only the best candidate for the position. 

The Administration coalition  formally announced its senatorial slate for the 2013 and they are composed of the following: Senator Antonio “Sonny” Trillanes IV, Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano, Sen. Francis “Chiz” Escudero, Aurora Lone District Representative Juan Edgardo Angara, former National Youth Commission (NYC) chairperson Paolo Benigno “Bam” Aquino IV, former Akbayan Partylist Representative Ana Theresia “Risa” Hontiveros-Baraquel, former Senators Ramon Magsaysay, Jr. and Maria Ana Consuelo “Jamby” Madrigal, Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) Chairperson Grace Poe-Llamanzares, Senator Loren Legarda, former Las Piñas City Representative Cynthia Villar, and Senator Aquilino Martin “Koko” dela Llana Pimentel III.

A coalition agreement was signed too by LP, NPC, NP, Akbayan, LDP and National Unity Party. 

President Benigno Aquino III described Mrs. Cynthia Villar in his speech like this. . .

"At siyempre po, si Cynthia Villar, siyam na taon na ring kongresista ng Las Piñas, at siguradong ipagpapatuloy ang mga programang pangkabuhayan sa pambansang antas. Alam po n’yo, ang tawag ko ho sa kanya affectionately “Ma’am Cynthia.” Hindi ko naman ho pinagdidiinan na may agwat kami sa edad, pero tanda po ng galang, at sa totoo lang ho, noong amin pong Speaker sa House, si Manny Vilar, siya po’y nagmistulang ina lalo na sa aming mga baguhang miyembro ng kongreso. Talaga pong naasahan namin ang kalinga niya. At saka sa lahat ho ng pakikipag-ugnayan natin sa kanya ay ni minsan po ay hindi ko masasabing hindi sinsero siyang kausap at maliwanag kausap."

She was a member of the House of Representatives for the Lone District of Las Piñas City.
