CAJUN Red Rock. Great Food. Great Prices. Great Time.

20th of August I was with a dear friend named Ness for another round of abrupt food trip. Usually those unplanned moments are the most meaningful ones. And I surely got a lot of that so far with this girl, what more in the coming years? Uh-oh! That feel-good afternoon we went from the neighboring mall to buy a CD essential for grade computing, I cannot recall how it is called exactly. Since we finished buying the said product, we then headed to SM Megamall where we did about an hour of window shopping and still about an hour also of finding the best restaurant that we have not yet conquered. Something worth-blogging and yeah, sharing :)

Near the Atrium part of SM Megamall, we encountered this American family restaurant with New Orleans set-up. I  saw this one also in Robinson's Galleria and learned that day that they also have one in Retiro St. Quezon City. A week before we went there, my friend and I noticed how jampacked this place was because of their unbeatable offer during the Food Sale. I can still remember how she relayed to me later that day how she and her husband were treated by some of the staffs, not minding them at all at the waiting area, causing them to leave the place hot-headed because of the kind of service they received. But that day, our so-called date day, we gave this restaurant and its staffs a second chance and this must be really  good.

I haven't seen a restaurant as cool as this before. Yes, this is not a shed for housing motor vehicles and some old, rusty stuffs but this is simply a garage-like restaurant, well at least from the facade. Inside, one will feel the quiet and cozy ambiance perfect for friends and family gathering or date time with lover.

Menu is quite extensive and I was kind of mouth-water at the sight of incredible dishes on the menu. It was only while flipping the menu folder that we are informed that Cajun Red Rock caters for birthdays, corporate events, baptismal and weddings. And while taking our time choosing what's best for our tummies, a food server gave us a plate of original white popcorn which we dig in right then and there.

Did you know that Chef Tony's Popcorn, the one which we love among the brands of local popcorn, is also with the same umbrella or company as Cajun Red Rock? No wonder, all over the menu you see chef Tony here and there and that those delicious brand of popcorn are well-merchandised at the entrance of the restaurant.

Chef Tony's Strawberry and Green Bottomless Iced Tea PhP99
Since we need a refreshment that is something more than just a glass, we opted for these bottomless iced tea. Glass used was big enough to quench your thirst. We hardly have at least two glasses during our early dinner.

Red Rock Cob and Corn PhP270
A house specialty topped with grilled chicken and crispy colorful tortilla chips then glazed with Jack Daniel sauce and roasted garlic sour cream. This salad alone is enough to satisfy the hunger we feel that time. So loaded while having a good taste.

Shrimp and Ribs Treat PhP445
A big rectangular plate with a heap of crispy shrimps and grilled ribs with Cajun's specialty sauce and grilled corn on a cob plus herb rice. Nessie's order could have been a perfect match had she eaten those corn on a cob. She can't eat that kind of corn because she wanted it shredded already because of that I was the one who munched each piece slowly and took home some as well. Her plate was huge that made us grateful that we have chosen the right table for all our orders.

 Cajun Bourbon Ribs PhP365
Back ribs grilled with Cajun's slow simmered bourbon sauce and topped with roasted garlic. This is considered as their age-old house tradition. This is just half the size of my dear friend's plate but I was gasping at the sight of its delicious goodness. My choice of sides was perfect too! I've opted to have Country Potato, a serving the size of a ramekin with chopped potatoes tossed in their special sauce. And yo know what's so special about it? It was its warm and soothing taste that is so perfect for well-cooked ribs. A cup will cost you PhP90.

We stayed for just more than an hour and that was one of the superb early dinner I had lately. I gulped half of my refilled Green Iced Tea before we finally decided to pay our bill which my ever generous friend shouldered. It took us some time to wait for the official receipt to arrive since the restaurant obviously lacked man power that time. I took home the left over salad and it's great to know that staffs and manager-on-duty were attentive enough of our needs. One thing I noticed was that the plastic and styrobox used for our take home left overs have no brand at all which is kinda indecorous.

Until next time Cajun Red Rock. You rock our day!  So if you guys are looking for  Great Food. Great Prices. Great Time. ,it is about time to experience this cool restaurant and let the good times roll!
