Delight me HAINANESE DELIGHTS!

Here I go again making the most out of my rest day. Thus, the wanderlust is me is very active. Part being a wanderlust is of course trying out new things and be somewhere you've ever wanted to be.
As my gastro partner and I stroll around the mall in Robinson's Galleria we saw this Hainanese Delights small restaurant. We were piqued by their attention-grabbing interior and great promo. While studying their menu on an easel board, aGuest Relation Officer informed us of their offering - hainan rice all you can. We were swayed by the idea of trying out this one so we instantly find us a seat for two. The restaurant that afternoon do not have so many patrons since they are still in the soft opening stage. We can actually see some of the flowers adoring the main entrance of the place.

To be honest we are in dire search of a coffee shop that time but we ended up here. Their menu says that they sell hot signature coffee but when I'm at the cashier to make our orders I was dismayed that all of their hot drinks are not yet available. Wrong timing. That only means that part of our next destination will be were we could finally sip coffee. Anyhow, we still dined in since we kinda like the aura the resto brings to us. I just liked colorful things and wide backdrops.
Sorry but I can't help it. I so love the murals and all. The place may be small and narrow inside but the gigantic picture of this mysterious bowl deserves to be my backdrop. Peace!

Another one! :) Explaining what is HAINAN RICE is all about.
HAINANESE CHICKEN
One of Singapore's best! This viand has always been associated with Singaporean and Chinese cuisine. The broth and the chicken cut-ups itself is so flavorful maybe due to the fact that the broth use in here was used over and over creating such a delish broth.
HAINAN RICE
Cute scoops of this rice should not be underestimated as they are not just too flavorful but extremely heavy as well. We only had two scoops each. Mind you up to now they still offer the HAINAN RICE ALLYOU CAN! It will be nearly a year already. It was May when we went here.

Our simple lunch  table together =)
Would love to have their soothing cold caffeinated beverages but availability is the problem. Thus, we only have a glass of cold house water. For the CHICKEN BARBECUE I was not satisfied with their serving size of this as it looks like not appetizing. It's 'bony' and a little  overcooked :'(. Wasn't able to maximize this chicken viand. However, its hainanese counterpart is a sure winner!
CONDIMETS
Seasonings are some staples that we always found in Asian-inspired restaurant. They will always be there sitting primly on top of your table. Hainanese Delights  has these great  partners for any dish. I love their shredded ginger. I ate lots of it actually as a suitable  partner of my Chicken BBQ. Not to mention the the chinese soy sauce and chili sauce that go well with other Asian dishes.

Happy? We are. We'll be going back for more of the store's latest offerings. For the budget friendly Asian cuisine try this place. I know you are budget conscious like us so why not give it a try :)
Hopefully beverages will be available and satisfying when we visit this place again.

How I want my Valentine's Day to be SPECIAL . . .

We are already on the 4th day of February. And oh yes time is fast approaching. We shall be celebrating the loveliest and sweetest day of the year in no time :) VALENTINE'S DAY! Love is in the air. Chocolates and flowers are everywhere. A lot of gift shops and specialty stores are working very hard to meet the demands of its customers. Restaurants will be full when the 14th day of love month strikes. Time and again we are being reminded that this day , no matter what day of the week it may fall, is truly a special day for all of us. Even magical to some. This well-known celebration is never limited to lovers (girl and boy) alone. For this day we must spread the love and the joy of giving just like how we treat Christmas day :)

Sharing you here a very timely Valentine's Day quote:

Loving is not just looking at each other, it's looking in the same direction. ~Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, Wind, Sand, and Stars, 1939

This is how special I want my valentine's day to be. Matter-of-factly, I do not need . . .

A  bunch of  the freshest one dozen flowers

OR

the most expensive chocolates in the world

OR maybe even

the most huggable and biggest stuffed toy on earth

For all I need is LOVE.  LOVE? Yes! Simply because love begets love. It may sound so cliche or trite to most of us but I surmise it is the best and the most powerful thing one can ever give/receive to/from anyone. With love comes pain but it is on how each of  us carry the situation yet still heading in the same direction.

To light up my romance this well-accepted Valentine's day, I opted to join this contest I surprisingly found out just before I retire to bed. It will be an EXTRA special Valentine's day for me if I will be one of the 5 lucky winners to win such a sweet treat from Mrs. Joy Calipes Felizardo herself. Here are what you and I could win:

1.  A dinner at L'entrecote, Forbes Town. AGC that is worth two Menu Geneva, consisting each of House  Salad, the signature L'entrecote Steak with the secret Herb Butter Sauce, unlimited Fries, and the sumptuous dessert Raspberry-Walnut Vacherin and a glass of wine. I made a review about this amazing restaurant and I'm sure you and your dearest will have a "steak tastic" dinner date here. Related Post: A Remarkable Steak Experience and More at L'entrecote

2. Discount vouchers from Manila Hotel and a box of pralines worth P480.

Carol's TEXAN 5

About a year ago it was a part of my plan to treat my beloved mother to a simple  Mother's Day dinner celebration. I promised to use the voucher I purchased from a certain group buying site which became one of  my favorites. I wanted to execute the plan with my siblings but unfortunately it was spoiled a number of times due to their unavailability. The plan was long-overdue so one night I decided not to take my blow-out for too long. So even if my workaholic brothers and father are not around, I told myself that this must materialize on a fine weather to enjoy our dinner. Since during that time is love month and just 4 days after the Valentine's day I believed the well-thought out dinner treat of mine must rollout.
I gathered my uncle, a brother of mine, my mother and a female cousin that night who are not too busy that time and all of them agreed with my plan. We proceeded even if we are incomplete. Thank God that the dinner date transpired at last!

The clutter-free counter area
This is a self-service type of restaurant offering Tex-Mex cuisine. Thus, guests must line up first to pay for their meal and voila everything you ordered will just land on your chosen table in no time. The place offers a relaxed atmosphere. No hustle nor bustle.

THE ULTIMATE TEXAN RIBS

Perfect for every man in the family. My uncle's choice out of their varied menu choices. You can see the big slab of meat right?  My mom got jealous when she saw it so I had to  order one for herself apart from the one she originally ordered. Deliciously big! Highly recommended not only because of its potion size but also because of its juiciness and the sauce that goes with it.
I took a bite of this one and I liked the way it was cooked and presented.

COWBOY ROASTBEEF

TEXAN BURGERSTEAK

The above ala carte dish made our night a tummylicious one. Everything we ordered made us so full on the spot. The roastbeef is tender and the burgersteak is so thick but grilled to perfection. I just wish they add more gravy on the ramekin for a better and full blast plated meal experience. We shared everything that's on our table as we enjoy the perks of having a fast wifi connection and enjoying the ball game that runs unendingly on the televison screen.
JUICES and SODAS.

Something to partner our meals. Half of us preferred to gulp a carbonated and sugary drink like MUG Rootbeer, while my mother and I opted to have a fiber-enriched Del Monte Pineapple Juice for a healthier choice.
Enjoying excellent dinner together at a Tex-Mex inspired restaurant.

TOMATO BASIL PASTA VEGETARIAN
PESTO VEGETARIAN PASTA

These are for those people who were not able to join us that night. A hefty serving and two of the best tasting pasta dishes that I have ever tasted yet. So creamy and really delicious even without meat. I didn't really expect it to be so delicious. Really! My brother, father and grandmother ultimately loved these. Carol's Texan never failed me. Thanks a bunch!

The said restaurant is just within the city where we live in. It is accessible and we didn't have a hard time commuting.
Dishes are delectable which definitely American in style done in Texan way :) Pasta dishes are mouthwatering too.
So if you want something cozy and great offerings try this place and tell me how you find it. Thanks to Ensogo for helping me discover such a good find resto near us. The 3 vouchers I used that night to pay for our bill made them really full and unbelievably happy. All in all I only cashed out Php600 which normally valued at Php1200. Great savings indeed!

Happy eating folks!
